Unlimited dessert.

Meredith Foreman's biggest challenge as a student eating at Iowa State
University's dining halls was not to overindulge in the tempting sweets
that were so readily available. So she and her friends decided as a

The opposite can be true for drivers when a cyclist pulls in front of the car or a runner isn’t wearing reflective gear at dusk.

Resolve to set realistic health goals

Warwick

It is an annual ritual. We like to think about the new year as a time of renewal and a chance to turn over a new leaf. Most of us make resolutions with good intentions, only to be frustrated or disappointed in ourselves within a few weeks. Usually this is because our list of goals is unrealistic, not because we lack enthusiasm or willpower.

Brace yourself for grocery sticker shock

O'Bryan

When the words were penned, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” Emma Lazarus obviously wasn’t referring to the weary wandering the aisles of a grocery store.

Wii Fit: A better way to track your weight

Mike Chesney

The Wii Fit takes the whole concept of games as exercise to a new level by including a “balance board” peripheral that tells you on the fly exactly how well (or how poorly) you're doing with various activities. It's a decent alternative for those bored with the repetitiveness of going to a gym or too self-conscious to join a yoga or aerobics class.

I am more confident now about my appearance. Have you lost weight? Have your perception and attitude about yourself changed?

  • For nearly two years now, I've tried to drink at least a gallon of water every day. And I do, for the most part. It took my body a while to get used to this ... it's a lot of running back and forth to the water cooler and to the bathroom ... but now, if I don't drink a lot of water, I feel dehydrated. I crave it.

  • Alot of you have lost a LOT of weight like me. People don't recognize me unless they have seen me through this journey. Which I will say has benefited me. What differences have you seen in the outside world with people viewing you from over weight to thin?
