Water: A 3-fer
For nearly two years now, I've tried to drink at least a gallon of water every day. And I do, for the most part. It took my body a while to get used to this ... it's a lot of running back and forth to the water cooler and to the bathroom ... but now, if I don't drink a lot of water, I feel dehydrated. I crave it. It's worse on weekends, mainly because it's easier to drink a lot of water while I'm at work. I've worked it into my routine there.
And over time, I've noticed a lot of benefits. Because I'm constantly hydrated, my skin looks better and I don't get hungry between meals. I get plenty of exercise when I otherwise wouldn't ... all that walking back and forth does add up over the course of a day.
But this season, I'm noticing one other good thing, which I largely attribute to my water consumption. Because I'm in the ladies' room so much, I'm constantly washing my hands. While everyone around me is sniffling and sneezing, I've managed to stay cold-free so far this season.
Everyone tells you to wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands during cold and flu season ... what better way to combine two healthy habits for one good cause ... and enjoy the exercise benefits as well?
