Can diet and exercise beat a tummy tuck?

I think so from what I've seen.
Here's a New York Times story on a plastic surgeon who sometimes discourages cosmetic surgery:

What do you think? Can diet and exercise beat a tummy tuck?

Never Do The Invasive Thing When There Is An Option
I almost opted for a stomach stapling etc to lose my weight and I am so thankful that the Lord pointed me in another direction...I have seen a lady in my area suffer and I mean suffer from stomach surgery to lose weight! I think you should only do a tummy tuck as a last resort --- I still have some UGLY areas from losing the weight but they are less and less noticable as the years have gone by (I am almost at 3 years on my journey or new life) ..... Work you abs and other problem areas (ask a personal trainer for tips).... work them EVERY other day yes there might be pain but anything worth having is worth the work and the pain...........

The more I workout at
The more I workout at Crossfit, the more I see the loose skin from my weight loss "disappearing." I think diet and exercise always beats surgery of any kind.
You bet it can!
I have been personal training here in Jackson for more than 3 years and have helped numerous moms regain their shape and flatten their stomachs. Proper nutrition and a sound exercise program can get you the results you desire. A tummy tuck might be faster, but doing it yourself with exercise is far more rewarding.

Exercise is more work.
Exercise is more work. That's the appeal of surgery.
