Books help you lose weight

There's a new series of books aimed at 9- to 13-year-old girls called Beacon Street Girls. One book, "Lake Rescue," focuses an overweight girl named Chelsea Briggs who overcomes problems to find fitness and eat healthy.

Duke researchers used that book for its six-month childhood obesity program, and the results were astounding.

According to The New York Times, girls who read "Lake Rescue" posted a decline in average body mass index scores of 0.71; those who didn’t read the book (including those who had counseling) had an average increase of 0.05. That seemingly minor difference means the girls who read "Lake Rescue" will achieve a healthy weight in a few years if they maintain their regular growth rate and do not gain any more weight.

Does anyone have any books they'd recommend to help people lose weight?

You gave me a book a few months ago called "Good Calories, Bad Calories" about which foods are better for you than others. I've not read it yet but it's on my list. Also, a friend recommended "The Great Physician's Rx" about a Bible-based diet plan. This one is on my list too!
