Turbo charge your diet

Dr. Judith Beck has a fresh perspective on what it takes to diet.
She has written a very helpful book, "The Beck Diet Solution". You must
fine tune your eating habits in order to lose fat and look better.
Exercise alone won't cut it. But, there is good news: It's not what you
think.
According to Dr. Beck, the reason people fail at dieting is because they don't know "how" to diet.
"The Beck Diet Solution":
· Teaches you how to think like a thin person and gives you solid tools to overcome sabotaging thoughts and situations.
· Introduces the "resistance muscle" and the "giving-in muscle". The muscle you use more often gets stronger.
· Provides transcripts of actual conversations with dieters on the
program about what they were thinking in different situations.
We all know the feeling, two weeks in to a new diet, when it stops
being fun, new or interesting and we're ready to give up. Not anymore.
"The Beck Diet Solution" picks up where your diet leaves off. It gives
you the tools to change your habits and make "dieting" work by teaching
you how to think like a thin person.
Dieters of all levels can be successful with this book. The simple
approach assigns one task to complete each day for 6 weeks. The
specific daily tasks help prepare you for every imaginable food
situation. Some of them will kick even experienced dieters where it
counts.
Every single person I have recommended this book to has responded
with a resounding, "They totally got me." Dr. Beck hit my personal
weakness on day 19 "Stop Fooling Yourself". My delusion muscle is
Herculean! "I will do better tomorrow" is my mantra.
The solution, according to Beck is to create a reminder card that
tells me that "It's not okay to eat unplanned food of any kind… I might
feel good for the few seconds I'm eating, but I'll feel bad afterwards."
An excerpt from Dr. Beck:
"The Beck Diet Solution shows you exactly how to avoid cheating; how
to resist tempting food even when it's on the table in front of you;
and how to cope with hunger, cravings, stress and strong negative
emotions without turning to food for comfort. You'll even learn how to
motivate yourself to exercise, even if you're not naturally inclined to
do so."
"The Beck Diet Solution" is a Cognitive Therapy approach to losing
weight. Cognitive Therapy is a problem solving approach to changing the
way we think about things. It has been used successfully to treat
anxiety, depression and substance abuse for decades.
Everyone thinks about food. The key, it seems, is to use those thoughts for good.
