Continuing to succeed

I am now down a total of 14 lbs. That is in the past 5 weeks. I'm really, really proud of myself for being able to control my habits this way. Being able to tell myself NO is a victory in itself.

I'm back on whole grains now and that is going well. I found some Multigrain tortillas at Wal-Mart this weekend with only 3 net carbs in a serving and that is AWESOME. I also started back eating cereal which is something I used to not do because I would be hungry again so soon after eating it. I think that since I've established portion control in my daily eating habits, the cereal thing is not going to be a problem. The South Beach info I had recommended a high fiber cereal during Phase 2, but I just didn't see anything in the store that wasn't overloaded with carbs - even if it had more fiber than the other cereals. I finally selected an old favorite. Honey Nut Cheerios. They are made with whole grains and have less carbs that most of the other cereals I looked at. Plus, I'll actually EAT them instead of gagging on some type of cereal that looks like something I picked up in my yard (sticks and pinecones!).

Those multigrain tortillas sound yummy! You're doing great on this ... talk about dedication! Maybe when you reach your goal and can eat more carbs I can make you some muffins. LOL

That's so sweet of you to offer.....but...maybe your daughter could cook instead? =) Wouldn't want a repeat of the horseradish incident!
