A game to remember

Join GetFitMississippi.com on Aug. 7 for the Batter Up 4 Stewpot charity softball game at Trustmark Park.
Watch the Media Giants battle Barbour's Bombers for the fourth time in softball history. The event raises money for Stewpot, a metro-area soup kitchen and clothes closet for the less fortunate.
The game begins at 5 p.m. followed by the M-Braves vs Jacksonville at 7:05 p.m. So it promises to be a great double-header for a good cause to help Stewpot serve meals and provide clothing to needy Mississippians.
The series was known as Homerun for Habitat for the first three years and helped raise money to build Habitat homes in the Jackson area. The Bombers hold the edge in the series 2 games to 1 after slamming the Giants in August 2007.
Fans are hoping Gov. Haley Barbour gets to play or coach his Bombers. Stewpot Executive Director Frank Spencer and Haley Barbour were teammates when high school students on the Yazoo City High baseball team.
Media players are coming from The Clarion-Ledger, WAPT-16 in Jackson, local radio stations and other media outlets. There will be a raffle at the game.
Dozens of prizes range from college baseball jerseys to restaurant gift certificates to a classic T-shirt promoting the annual Johnny Cash music festival in Starkville.
