Ann Freeman realized that she was overweight and unhealthy about three years ago.
She started watching her diet, and joined the YMCA to begin her fitness routine. She had an orientation with one of the trainers, and the Y that put her on a program combining cardio and strength training.
Since then, she has lost 50 pounds and continues to keep it off. She works out four times a week doing group exercises such as Zumba, Line dancing, Pilates and other fun activities.
Freeman said it is a lot easier to work out when it's fun, and she is always willing to try new exercises to keep challenging her body. She said she is a member of the YMCA because staff and other members are always so motivating and that it feels like family there.
