The Cell phone Effect could alter early Election 2010 outcomes

Early poll results for Election 2010 could be off just a bit, due to a prejudice that Pew Research has dubbed the “cell phone effect”. The NY Times points out that 25 percent of adults use cell phones exclusively, as land lines are so yesterday. Because numerous pollsters do not call cell phones, results could be off by as much as four points, reports the Times.

Based on creator Rovio Mobile, the app “Angry Birds” had the highest sales totals of any iPhone app for this year. Android figures were proportional, although the game did not go Droid until late 2010. Since Christmas will soon be here, “Angry Birds Seasons” has set its holiday sleigh a flight. But the Angry Birds are flocking to Android first.
