Chicago Marathon: The Unrated Version

When I went to Chicago to run (and, mostly, walk) in the Chicago Marathon, I was confident I could finish the first and last miles. The 24.2 miles in between worried me, though.

Scratch One Off The Bucket List, Or, Does Anybody Have Any Advil?

I am happy to tell you that I was among the fortunate few (30,000 or so) who finished Sunday's Chicago Marathon. No, I did not win. And through no fault of my own, I did not finish last. It's been a nine-month process, but I finally reached my goal. If I have inspired you to run a marathon, please seek professional help.

Chicago Is Almost Here

The weather is cooling off. The long group runs are over. On Friday, I leave for Chicago. On Sunday, me, my fellow Marathon Makeover members and 45,000 of our new best friends compete in the Chicago Marathon. It's been downright cold when we ran the last two Saturdays (I could see my breath). The last forecast I saw for Sunday in Chicago predicted temps in the 50s and a chance of rain.
